Happy New Year........

What a year 2009 has been, new laughs, new tastes, new house, new bills, new adventures, new passions, new convictions. There is no looking back, only forward now and I refuse to make new year's resolutions. They are silly and I never keep them. I don't even waste my time to think about them. Besides, we should constantly be evaluating our hearts and lives in order to grow in Christ likeness, no matter what the time or date.

Speaking of changes, my husband had his surgery today. And before the big event, I begged and pleaded with him to allow me to photograph him. I literally received 45 seconds of his time. It was enough......besides I needed some pre-op shots....hello hot husband.....goodbye earrings.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland..

My sister came up this weekend to take some pictures for us. Unfortunately, we didn't have the ideal day, but she did a great job with the circumstances she was given. Thank You Rach, you truly did an amazing job! My mom rode along as well! Thanks ladies, for making my day a little sweeter! Here are a couple photos from our shoot. Poor Addison was freezing and Kahle's silly hat kept covering his face. We all laughed and shivered the entire time, it was quite hysterical.

Of course, I had to take a couple photos too!

Our children are far too comfortable in front the camera. Addison refuses to smile sweet smiles for me anymore. Instead, I get silliness, which is far more exciting.

We have been waiting to take a picture of this face! This is the newest expression from our little guy and we love it.

God, thank You for our beautiful children, the good moments and the chaos.

Jackson, Isabelle, and Isaiah

These three are absolutely adorable. The older two are very shy and timid around the camera. The only way I could get Izzy to smile is let her hold a rose that was decorating the table, she even hid behind it for a moment. I can't wait to see them again on Christmas Eve.

What a sweet guy. I asked him to smile for his mommy and he agreed....a little.

Baby Jackson

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I visited family in Peru. I was able to take some pictures of little baby, Jackson. He was such a good little man to photograph. He always looked right into the camera, well, except for in this shot.

I really loved this chair. While visiting my in-laws house, I came across it sitting in a spare room. I thought it was a perfect spot for a picture. Jackson was actually a little long for the chair, but it worked.

Thankful for Thanksgiving Break...

I am so relieved that our four day Thanksgiving break is here, oh how i am relieved. I am sure the students are greatful for their break as well!

I am cooking this year, yikes! I've never cooked a turkey before. Hopefully, the thing will turn out o.k. I hate the idea of cleaning it........speaking of birds.

I miss you.

I cried tonight as I watched the the other couples walking through the parking lot, just returning from their dates or quiet evening alone. I sat and watched for a while, almost beginning to feel sorry for myself. I want to go on a date with you, but I can't, you are working. It's late....you are working, not your fault.
I dropped Addison off. Tonight was parent's night out at her school. Parents could drop of their children for a few hours and enjoy an evening together. I had ignored the letters and emails, I knew he had to work. She looked up at me after school today and asked if "she could go straight home and put on her pajamas for the party tonight!" Darn, she knew about it, I told her sure. She had a fantastic time making crafts and playing with her friends. I had an excellent time at home playing with Kahle. It wasn't until pick-up time that it got hard. I sat watching from my car as the other parents giggled and held hands after their time spent together.
I don't want to feel sorry for myself, I know to be greatful. "God works all things together for the good of those who love Him." And oh, I do love Him. I know there is a purpose in all of this and I will continue to be obedient. I really miss my husband, and God, you know it.

And it begins...

So recently God has been re-igniting in me a passion for photography. Since college, it has been something I have enjoyed and even pursued, yet, as with all seasons of life, things change. It isn't that I stopped enjoying the art, it is that I began to get busy with life, namely, being a wife and a mother of two. Throughout the busyness and baby chaos, my husband continuously encouraged me to begin again, but I was hesitant. Through prayer and opened opportunities, God has made real this passion again. I am overwhelmed with excitment as I begin this journey. I'm not sure what will come of it, but the Lord knows...
